Luxury Wedding Pianist in the DFW-Area

Updated: May 1

Hello there! If you’ve landed on this post, it means you’re looking for a luxury wedding pianist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  I realize that labeling myself as a “luxury wedding pianist” may come across the wrong way, but after working with many clients who are excited to have a luxurious wedding experience – I realized that I should just write a post about what makes Lindsay Knight Piano a luxury experience.

Luxury Wedding Pianist in the DFW-Area

Unlike other areas of the wedding space, there’s not a lot of education out there when it comes to wedding pianists.  The package pricing for wedding pianists can vary a LOT, and it’s not always clear what a client will receive.

So, today, we’re pulling back the curtain and discussing the specifics around what makes an experience luxurious.

Communication with Clients

When working with a vendor for your wedding, communication is a must!  Even with a wedding planner or coordinator, there can be an overwhelming number of decisions to make.

With my clients, I make it a point to reply within 1-2 business days, and usually reply same day.  Many of my reviews from clients note how helpful my communication style is, and you can read those reviews here.

Luxury Wedding Pianist: Customization

Wedding pianists have different ways of working with their clients, and there’s usually two main schools of thought, so to speak:

  1. Have clients only select from a predetermined list of wedding songs (no customization)

  2. Have a set list of popular wedding songs, with the option to fully customize the whole wedding song list (including creating custom arrangements that blend different songs)

As a wedding pianist, my favorite part of my job is the song selection and customization with my clients.  I love creating a soundtrack for your special day, and I don’t just stick to the “typical wedding songs.”  My clients have pulled songs from their favorite movies and musicals, video game franchises, etc.

I love a setlist that can include everything from La La Land to The Legend of Zelda to some Taylor Swift Lover.

In addition to finding existing music, I also create custom arrangements for my clients.  You can think of this as the “wedding-ified” version of a song, taking a popular classic and creating a lyrical piece out of it.  I love the look on wedding guests' faces when they realize they’re listening to Panic! At the Disco after Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Live Wedding Musician: Piano Recording

Something that sets Lindsay Knight Piano apart from other wedding pianists is the recording process. Not only do I give my clients a recorded version of their ceremony songs for their wedding (what a keepsake), I also provide samples for songs that the couple may not be sure about.

Instead of receiving a list of songs that will be played during your wedding processional, you will be able to listen to them – and how they’ll sound – at the wedding.  Clients will often make tweaks and changes to the songs during the process, noting what they do and don’t like in a recording.

Doing this creates a high value experience for my clients, because they know exactly what will play – and how it will sound – at their wedding ceremony.

How does insurance work for a wedding pianist?

Ahhh, insurance! Everyone’s favorite topic, I’m sure.

As a wedding pianist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I carry liability insurance.  I also have multiple backup plans for clients, in case I can’t play, so they are well taken care of.  (The specifics of that depend on your package and contract, happy to go over it in more detail via email!)

Luxury Wedding Pianist: Performance Quality

Not all digital pianos are created equal!  In early 2024, I upgraded my digital pianos to some of the best in the industry – consulting with other wedding pianists across the country.  (Gotta love Reddit and Facebook Groups!) The sound quality on these pianos is amazing, not to mention the look and feel of the piano shells, making it possible to have an instrument in almost every setting.

Guest Feedback on Live Wedding Musician

Finally, one of the things I’m most proud of as a wedding pianist is the feedback my clients get from their guests. They share that the music really reflects the story of the couple, and made the wedding incredibly memorable.

You can read reviews from my clients (and their guests) here!
