FAQ

DALLAS FORT WORTH WEDDING PIANIST

Which songs will tell your story?

Below, I’ve shared the answers to some of the most common questions I receive as a wedding pianist in the Dallas - Fort Worth area.

If you have questions not covered in the FAQ, feel free to contact me here.

Q: How much is a wedding pianist or event pianist?

A: At Lindsay Knight Piano, rates are dependent on the date of your event, travel time, and the package best suited to your event.

Because each wedding is so unique with a variety of special moments needing the perfect audio backdrop, I create packages for each client to choose from in order to make sure you are getting exactly what you need!

My ceremony packages start at $1800 with the average couple spending about $3200 for their special day.

More information on wedding packages can be found on my investment page or by requesting a quote, here.

Q: What happens if you get sick or are unexpectedly unable to attend my wedding or event?

A: This depends on the package selected.  Clients are given a digital copy of their custom wedding song list to play in the event of an emergency, and a backup pianist can be secured for an extra fee.

Q: My wedding is outdoors (beach, field, forest, etc). Can I still have a wedding pianist play at my wedding or reception?

A: Absolutely!  Because I use digital pianos (nestled inside “shells” that upgrade their appearance), I can bring electricity with me in the form of a discrete generator.

Q: I don’t know what songs to have you play at my wedding.  Do you have a setlist?

A: I do have a large repertoire of songs I can pull from.  I also work with my wedding clients to form their own wedding song list – building out what I call the “soundtrack of your relationship.” I know it can be overwhelming to choose songs, which is why I have developed a process to help you and your partner do it – in a fun and exciting way.  Every wedding song list should reflect the couple, and wedding music shouldn’t be boring.  We’re celebrating YOU, after all (and YOU are not boring)!

You can read more about the wedding song list process here.

Q: Who are your ideal clients?

A: My ideal clients are passionate people, who aren’t afraid to be a little “high maintenance.”  I want to get your perfect day PERFECT, and I love getting feedback and co-creating the best wedding piano song list for your special day.

Also, my favorite clients have a support team! I have found through my years of experience that wedding planners are worth their weight in gold.  A wedding planner can set up cues, coordinate setup and takedown, and really help make the music match your special day.  I prefer clients to have a wedding planner, but this is not a requirement.

Q: Do you have requirements for the couples you work with?

A: My only requirement is that couples love each other. :)  I love playing at the weddings of diverse couples – every wedding is so unique, and that’s what makes my job so fun. <3

Q: Do you only play for weddings?

A: While I am a wedding pianist (I love love!), I also often work with local companies and organizations. From Christmas and holiday parties to charity galas, I work with a variety of clients in the DFW area. See information for events and celebrations here.

Q: How far will you travel for an event?

A: Currently, most of my events are in the DFW-area, with Austin, Texas, weddings as well.  Packages are available for destination weddings in Mexico, as well as travel within the United States. Candidly, I’ve never traveled to play the piano for a wedding in Europe – but I can be convinced! ;)
